After much humming and haring I’m taking the pledge
‘I, Susan of Measure Twice Cut Once, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May ’14. I endeavour to wear at least 1 handmade garment each day for the duration of May 2014’
It’s going to be interesting to see how it all works out. In my mind I feel like I wear things I’ve made almost all the time, so here’s to hoping that is what actually happens. I’m also going to be repeating garments. That’s what I do in real life so that’s what will be happening during the challenge.
For anyone who is curious you can read all about Me Made May here
My harder challenge will be trying to photograph it all, will have to make friends with a timer/tripod combo or learn how to take full length photos with an iPhone? Any suggestions most welcome.

My hardest challenge will be taking photos too. Last year, my daughter was around to take photos for me. But she’s away in uni now. The two guys in my house cannot take decent photos, and I can’t remember whether our camera still works. And I’m really bad at taking iphone mirror selfies, so I’m thinking maybe I’ll lay the clothes on the floor the night before. Oh well, that’s the plan until it gets too tiresome π
I’ll be looking out for you on Flickr!

I tried taking photos in the lift the other day to see if that would work, as long as you only want to see my shoulders and head it works perfectly!
I like your idea of laying them out the night before, might have to do that too?
Catherine
Yay! I’m taking part too and I know I will repeat wears, especially with skirts and so on.
I made a quick list of all the things I’ve sewn so that I can confidently know that I have enough dresses or whatever, especially if I’m in a stitch,
I also like to use the app Timera to take multiple photos on a timer. You can set it at 5, 10 and 30 and have it take 1, 5 or more photos so you can try a couple of poses!
Good luck!

oh I can’t wait to see what you come up with, love your vintage style. Will also look into Timera, that sounds very good.

Yay. Are you going to post on instagram or flickr? I haven’t pledged yet, but I will definitely be doing it as well. In the end I bought a remote for my camera. It was the only sensible, low stress way I can deal with photographing myself.

I think I may post to Instagram as it is easier and then do a weekly round up on the blog and on flickr? I’m really not sure yet though. I do need to look into a remote for my camera though it is possible I can do it using an app as well?
