Calling for Pattern Testers

**EDIT** Thank you all for a wonderful response, I now have a huge pool of testers and won’t be taking on any more for awhile. I’ll be sending out emails to everyone who applied very soon.***

I’ve got some exciting plans coming up and I’ll be needing some pattern testers. So I’m asking for your help, if you are able to be a pattern tester that would be fabulous.

Here is a brief run down of what I need
– competent home sewers with an eye for detail
– ability to provide good feedback on fit and notes on pattern instructions
– patterns range from basic to intermediate/difficult and cover a range of skills. Fabrics will include wovens and knits. Skills will include (but are not limited to) application of lace, fold over elastic, swimwear elastic, collars and plackets.
– sewers of womenswear and children’s wear
– turnaround times will vary but a due date will be given so you have a time frame for testing.
– photos of the finished garments on a person. These do not have to be “modelled” shots. They are purely for help with the fitting process. Should you wish to share the images/pattern on your own blog or social media you are welcome to do so after the release date but it is not a requirement of you being asked to be a tester.

As compensation for your time and efforts you will receive the final version of the pattern and a discount code for your personal use on other patterns in the range.

To be a tester please comment below with
– your blog or social media handle so I can see what you like to sew and match you to the appropriate pattern
– your preference for wovens or knits
– your preference for womens or kids
– level of sewing experience

Hi Susan. I would be happy to pattern test for you so long as it is not lingerie and swimwear. I love sewing knits and wovens, so I don’t have a preference. I don’t have a blog but as you know I use IG.

I would love to be a pattern tester. I have been seeing for >10 years, but mostly home decor. I recently started sewing women’s fashions. I don’t yet have much of an online presence, but sew women’s dresses and tops for myself. I have done a few knits but am mostly focused on wovens.

Hi! I love to sew and I would love the opportunity to be a pattern tester. My Instagram handle is @sarahlblalock- my ig is not dedicated only to sewing, but there are lots of pictures of things I’ve sewn, mainly for my kids- most recently there is a picture of my son in his Oliver and S sleepover pajamas-turned Red Sox costume and my daughter in an altered Geranium dress Elsa costume, a few more pictures of various Geraniums, Oliver and S Roller Skate dress, Building Block dress, Playtime ddsss, Shwin and Shwin babydoll dress, See Kate Sew Pippa Peplum, amongst others.

My preference is woven fabric kids’ patterns, but I also see womenswear and work with knits. I have been sewing pretty obsessively for about 5 years, mostly self-taught and learning from patterns, but I also took a few sewing classes that helped with basic skills at a local sewing store.

    Thanks,

    Sarah

Hi Susan! I’d like to volunteer to be a tester if you’re still in need.

I’m not much of a blogger, but I do have a neglected blog here: http://ginpins.blogspot.com
I can be found on Kollabora here: http://www.kollabora.com/users/280066/ginny?bid=sewing
    and on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/ginpins/

I enjoy sewing with both knits and wovens. I’d prefer women’s patterns, only because there are currently no littles in my life at this time who could model the makes/test for fit.

I’ve been sewing since I was a wee tot — well over 50 years! I’m very meticulous and consider myself a very experienced sewist.

    Hi!

Would love to test if you are likely to get to larger sizes. I have lots of experience testing (Named patterns, Paprika patterns, Baste and Gather Birkin Flares, lots of bags, Thread theory mens boxers, some kids patterns) and really enjoy the process. I am @chloe_deadlycraft on Instagram and have a blog at http://deadlycraft.blogspot.com though it’s a bit quiet atm as am waiting for a facelift.

I prefer knits marginally but happy with either, womens clothes (but have kids 7 and 10) and would say am advanced (zips, buttonholes, welt pockets, adjustment.

Having moved away from the industry when it all moved off-shore I worked for 15 years in IT and have kept my sewing as a passionate hobby.

I would love to pattern test! I’m an intermediate sewist. I lean a bit more towards advanced beginner with knits, but I do have experience sewing lingerie (under wire bras, foe, stretch lace). I’ve only just started posting on IG @iseethestrals, so unfortunately not a tonne to see. Women’s patterns for sure. I’m petite (5’3″) and busty (30F) for fit variety!

Hi Susan! I’m an intermediate-level seamstress who would love to see behind the scenes of what it takes to develop a pattern. I’m 16 years old and am very keen to get into the pattern drafting industry once I leave school so would love to get a taste of it now! I have had experience with knits and wovens and particularly enjoy making activewear at the moment! I’d love to help out and I think it may just be a chance to use my perfectionistic side for good 😉 Thanks!

Omg!!! This sounds amazing. I would love to be a pattern tester?!!! I would consider myself an intermediate sewer. I’ve been sewing for about 16 years since I was 12. I’ve accomplished a certificate of completion from Los Angeles Trade Tech back in 2011. I’ve recently gotten back into home sewing since leaving the industry a couple months ago. I’m rebuilding my following and finding my place in this new niche of home sewers/sewcialists. My website is http://www.mybonafidetheory.com and my Instagram handle is @miss.cue ( it’s more lifestyle however I do have my sewing photos for viewing as well). I’d greatly enjoy the opportunity to test some patterns for you giving honest and critical feedback.

Hey Susan, I’d love to be considered. My instagram and blog are Antipodean stitcher, I sew wovens more than knits but don’t mind either, and I’d prefer women’s clothes. I’ve been sewing over a decade so I’d say I’m fairly good, although I haven’t taken any classes.

Hi, I would love to be considered for the pattern testing. I have been sewing for my children mostly and myself. I don’t have a blog or published photos, as I am concerned about my children being exposed in the internet world, but Im happy to send you photos, if interested.
My skills would be considered intermediate. I like to work with knits, wovens and I have just cut out my first swimsuit, so we will see how that goes. Thank you!
