I adore grey, in all of its shades and characters from charcoal to grey marle. I love its abilities to make other colours pop, to make something seem dressier and its ability to feel sporty. For me it is a true wardrobe basic and I want more of it to help balance out my over abundance of patterns and saturated colour.
I’m planning a new winter coat and am strongly leaning towards a grey wool, I’ve not yet decided on anything else apart from the fact my snow boots are grey which means I would match when I have winters in England (not much call here in Sydney for snow boots). Who knows I may change my mind yet but so far grey is winning.
Does anyone else adore grey as much me?

I adore grey..it just seems to go with everything. I’m thinking of making some sort of jacket in grey myself. Think of the amazing linings you could have.

Coloured lining is such a weakness of mine, saw a Japanese inspired cherry blossom silk lining the other day, was so pretty. I’m looking for a coat and maybe a blazer style too, think I may do both in grey?

Grey is a great winter staple. You’re winter coat will look timeless.

the way grey can be matched with other colours is a big bonus for me, that way I can mix and match it with accessories.

i had an obsession with grey marle for a while and made a dress and 2 jumpers from some fleecy material. i like how i looks with lace or white eyelet trim as well. layered or trimmed with it! so pretty
Susan Goodwin
Grey Marle with eyelet trim sounds divine! I will have to try that.

I love grey! I keep meaning to just buy grey instead of black, but it keeps sneaking into my wardrobe! 😉 The best part is that my cat’s fur doesn’t show up nearly as stark as it does on black.

Ha! got to love it when our little furry ones influence our wardrobes. I’m always covered with bits of fur and have to stock up on those sticky rolly things every time I see them on sale.

I adore grey and all it’s variations. I have a thing about charcoal and a vibrant yellow combo – ideas dancing in my head!
Susan Goodwin
Grey and yellow is one of my favourite combos too. I really want a pale grey wool cough with bright yellow upholstery buttons.
