How to sew a French seam

Join me, Susan from Measure Twice Cut Once, as I take you through how to sew a French seam, often used on fine or see through fabrics or just to ensure a neat finish.

It’s also good for children or adults who don’t like the feel of seams or have sensory issues.

The enclosed nature of the seam makes it smoother and provides less points of irritation. More videos on a variety of seams will be coming soon. If you have any questions please add them down below.

Beginner Sewing – how to sew bunting

Join me, Susan from Measure Twice Cut Once, as I take you through how to sew some bunting, a great reuseable way to decorate your house for a party, event or just everyday.

You’ll be learning how to cut a straight line, sew a straight line with a point, turn corners. Clip to reduce bulk and grade seams back to reduce bulk resulting in a fine point. I’ve used leftovers from garments of Liberty of London cotton lawn but you can use any fabric you have.

The pattern is available from the Measure Twice Cut Once website https://measuretwicecutonce.com.au

2022 is my year of taking the Scary out of Sewing! I want as many people as possible to take up sewing so they can create, make, mend and more. To help take away the scary, every Friday there is going to be a new video with accompanying pattern for a project entirely aimed at beginners. Each week there will be different techniques to learn or go over and it’s going to be a super fun way to grow your sewing skills.
