Everyone Deserves Pretty Lingerie Fortnight

Each year at the end of May and into the first week of June I have a week called “Everyone deserves Pretty Knickers”. During that week we celebrate all things knickers. This year I’m mixing it up by making it “Everyone deserves Pretty Lingerie” going over the next 2 weeks.

Over the next fortnight I’ll be showing casing beautiful robes, knickers, slips, tutorials and all things lingerie. I hope you can join in.

Site makeover and new bra kit colours

I’ve given the site a makeover, new layout, some new features and all kinds of nice shiny features under the hood that you don’t get to see but make the site actually work.

There’s a new FAQ page that covers most of the questions I get most frequently via email and the sewalongs page has been updated to include links to all the Named Clothing Beverly Bikini posts.

The webstore has also been restocked with lots of beautiful new colours of bra kits. The gorgeous new Tumeric cover has almost sold out already so get in quick if there is a colour you like.

If you find any glitches with the new layout just let me know and I’ll fix them right up.

Bra Kit Sale and new Dye your own kits

In anticipation of a new year filled with lots of lovely new bra colours, I decided to have a bit of a sale of colours currently in stock. These colours may not come around again for awhile so get in quick while stocks last. Kits remain on sale till sold out or till 1st of December.

Prices have gone from the usual $25.00 per kit to $20.00 per kit. For those not in Australia be sure to check your exchange rate as you can get an even better bargain due to the Australian dollar being so low at the moment. Naturally we post worldwide too.

I’ve also added a new dye your own kit. This kit has all the components as the other kits but you can choose your own type of dyes and create your own colours. The components are all prepare for dye (PFD) so in many cases are not totally white. A variety of shades of whites and creams exist in each kit. These are the same pieces I use for the dyed kits and all dye to the one colour as long as you follow your dye packet instructions. It does mean they aren’t suitable for an all white bra as you will get shade variations between the varying pieces.

Everyone Deserves Pretty Knickers week – round up

So Everyone Deserves Pretty Knickers week has been and gone and I didn’t get to even a fraction of the things I had planned. Life stuff got in the way and ever since I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to get back to the blog.

Thanks so much to everyone who joined in, I sincerely hope you’ve added a few more pretty knickers to your lingerie drawer.

Despite all the life dramas of the week I did manage to squeeze in a tiny amount of sewing time and got 3 new pairs finished. These were all part of my stash busting efforts so I was using fabrics and trims I had on hand.

Next year I’ll be looking forward to lots of fun stuff when we have our next Everyone Deserves Pretty Knickers Week!

Everyone Deserves Pretty Knickers week – stash busting

Every so often I get all excited about making pretty knickers and want to run out and buy heaps of new fabrics. However one the reasons I started sewing my own knickers was to stash bust.

Woven knickers are lovely to wear, breatheable, great for the summer time and while not as smooth as knit fabrics they are undeniably sweet and very comfortable. So as part of Everyone Deserves Pretty Knickers week I have gone through the stash, picked out some pretty lawns and soft cottons and cut out some styles.

I’ve chosen The Georgiana Knickers which I like as a cute bikini style and The Jane Knickers a great sleep short for the summer.

Each night I’m going to sew a little bit and hopefully by the end of the week I’ve reduced the fabric stash and have pretty knickers!

During the week long event I’ll be showcasing a number of tutorials on the blog so you can add some variations to your patterns and never have to spend money on designer lingerie again because you can make your own.

More Kits and Bra Classes

After yesterday’s amzing sell out of grey kits, I’ve got a combination kit today that is grey and lilac lace with black powermesh and straps. It’s going to be so sophisticated and the colours complement each other so well.

The powermesh used in this kit is super strong, I’ve cut the panels across the length of the fabric so you can get more use out of the stretch as it ran up and down not across the fabric. Be sure to check your stretch percentages against your regular pattern before cutting as it may affect how “strong” your bra feels. It’s fantastic quality, I feel like it holds you in all over!

Now for anyone in the Sydney region (or willing to travel to Sydney), exciting news as I’ll soon be running classes and workshops! Come listen to me talk all day and show you how to DIY your own bra pattern from an existing bra. Or take a class on making knickers or a soft cup bra from a pattern I’ve developed.

Classes and Workshops include

DIY your own bra pattern – In this class you will learn how to pull apart your own RTW (ready to wear) bra and construct a pattern to be able to sew your own version

Knicker Sewing Class – In this class you will learn how to cut and construct a pair of our Georgiana Knickers. These bias cut woven knickers are a bikini cut and a wonderful way to learn about finishing techniques for lingerie

Bralet Sewing Class – In this class you will learn how to cut and construct a soft cup bra (no underwires). Typically known as a bralet or lounging bra these are good for light support and a fabulous way to learn the techniques needed for bra making.

TIME: 12.30 to 4pm

New Bra Kits available

I’ve just added the most beautiful grey coloured kits to the store. It’s a really pretty grey with the slightest hint of blue tones to it and is going to be so flattering to so many skin tones.

So grab yourself a kit and your favourite bra pattern and get sewing!

There are also 2 purple kits left and I found enough to make 1 last Fuchsia kit. Once these ones sell out then those colours will be awhile before they are back in the line up.
